Let’s face it – most of us in this day and age have some time of job that requires a lot of one thing… sitting.
While there may not be around how much we sit in certain circumstances it is important that we try and be as active as possible when we do have control over the situation or even to just make sure and take breaks and get up every hour or so. If you aren’t convinced that sitting is an issue take a look at these 5 ways that sitting ruins your metabolism:
Movement, or being active throughout the days is not about burning more calories. If that was the case you could just exercise intensely for an hour each day and then sit the rest of the day (which is what most gym-goers do). No, the reality is that our bodies are designed to move often throughout the day. Exercise is important, but if you sit too much, you may set yourself up for some serious health problems, regardless of whether you exercise or not.
